Description
Red Wine: 2019 | Domaine Jacques Prieur | Clos de Vougeot
There is a whiff of prune to the aromas of baked plum, warm earth and leather. The exceptionally rich large-scaled flavors possess fine volume and more refinement than usual while concluding in a very compact, youthfully austere and mildly warm finish. The note of prune on the nose doesn’t appeal to me but the palate impression is lovely.

Producer Information
Domaine Jacques Prieur is a relatively large Burgundy producer that makes both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from esteemed vineyard holdings across the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. The history of the domaine began in the 1860s, with the marriage of Claude Duvergey and Marie Taboureau. They first established the wine and spirits merchant business, Duvergey-Taboureau House, before buying property in Meursault – now the site of the modern Jacques Priuer domaine.Beginning in the late 1800s and continuing into the 20th Century, the family began investing in viticulture and purchasing vineyards, establishing vines in what have become some of the most sought after appellations in the Côte d’Or.
