Description
region: Uco Valley, Mendoza, Cuyo, Argentina
GRAPE(S): MALBEC
WINEMAKER: PHILLIPE CARAGUEL
Farming: practicing sustainable
Winemaker Phillipe Caraguel studied winemaking in France with the intention of returning home to Argentina to bring old world techniques to his native land. In 2006, he realized his dream with Bodegas Atamisque. For his top expression of Malbec, he sources grapes from an 87 year old vineyard in La Consulta. Sorted by hand, twice, only the very best fruit makes it into this cuvée. Aged for 14 months in new French Oak, this Malbec is
intense and
full-flavored. Aromas and flavors of
blackberries and
plums are accented with notes of
coffee and
tobacco with
firm tannins on
its lengthy finish.
