This 25 year old BenRiach was released as part of the distillery’s 16th (16th!) batch of single cask releases. After distillation on 27 September 1993, it spent its days in a cask which previously held Rioja wine. Loads of chocolate and dark fruity notes in this one. Once it turned a quarter of a century old, it was finally bottled, with the cask yielding 231 bottles at 54.3% ABV.

Nose: Chocolate and hazelnut with cherry, plum, vanilla and tobacco leaf.

Palate: Bittersweet with rich dark chocolate and blackberry compote.

Finish: Smoked plum, black pepper and cherry.
