“This 100% Tempranillo comes from the alluvial soils of the Zamora province in the Castilla y León wine region of northeastern Spain. Certified organic and vegan, this wine outshines most, if not all, of its competitors at its $9 price point.
On the nose, you’ll find ripe cherry, prune, and a slight leathery characteristic. On the palate, spicy dark chocolate, red fruit, and a touch of cedar. Light to moderate tannins frame a body that’s just shy of medium. Pair this wine with a cheese or charcuterie board, or a hearty pasta with meat sauce.
Try one of my favorite things to do with this wine: make red sangria (numerous recipes can be found online). I’ve found assorted berries, apples, and a little citrus work particularly well with this wine, but the fun of sangria is in the customization. At only $9 a bottle, why not take some home tonight and try something new?”
