Made in Fort Collins, Colorado, Feisty Spirits creates unique small batch experimental whiskeys. Non-conformist in nature, the distillery produces a wide variety of different whiskeys using many different distilling methods. Their 100% rye is part of their elemental series, focusing on single grain expressions. These whiskeys are single barrel bottlings and available in Colorado.

Feisty Spirits Rockit 100% Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Aroma gives off pleasant hints of pear, apple, and notes of fig.

Palate: Flavor has subtle dark fruits and brown sugar, with spicy rye combined with pleasant oak tannin.

Finish: Smooth with a long linger of light caramel, with a touch of smoky sweetness.

Distillery Information

Feisty Spirits was founded in 2012 by Jamie Gulden and David Monahan in the college town of Ft. Collins, Colorado, about an hour north of Denver. They may be new to the craft spirit scene but their sense of fun and innovation is boundless. Monahan is the master distiller, and with a PhD in engineering and an upbringing in Appalachia that included the making of rye spirits, he has an ideal background for this enterprise. Others in this four person operation include John Dahlgren in distilling and David and Alex Mackewich in charge of esthetics, sales and marketing.
