Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon is a non-chillfiltered bourbon using a recipe selected by master distiller Brent Elliott. Four Roses has 10 bourbon recipes available to craft its bourbon offerings which are made from two different mash bills and five different yeast strains. Small Batch Select is made from six of the ten: OBSV, OBSK, OBSF, OESV, OESK, OESF. Each bourbon in the small batch selection will be six or seven years old. This is the first new brand extension for the brand in 12 years. It joins the other permanent releases of Four Roses Bourbon, Small Batch, and Single Barrel bottlings. Available as of spring 2019 in Kentucky, Texas, California, New York, and Georgia with other locations to follow in the future.

Four Roses Small Batch Select Bourbon Whiskey 2020 Edition Tasting Notes

Nose: Toasted oak, red berries and caramel nose with a strong ethanol aroma.

Palate: Flavors of red fruit and caramel with citrusy notes and a touch of vanilla.

Finish: Medium to long finish with a toasted oak exit.

Distillery Information

Four Roses Distillery is a special place with a special page in history. One of only six distilleries that were permitted to operate during Prohibition to produce medicinal Bourbon, it has an intriguing history. Sitting on the banks of the Salt River in the serene rural part of Kentucky, it saw ups and downs, until it was resurrected in 2002.
