Louis Jadot Pommard 750ml
Composed of fruit from multiple terroirs within the appellation, assembled to represent the unique character of this prestigious village. Production is consistent with other Jadot red wines: fermentation with natural yeasts, aging in barrels (1/3 new) for 16 months.
The vintage was memorable for the extreme challenges it posed to growers. The defining event was a hard freeze in April which lasted several days, and the subsequent dramatic reduction in harvest volumes. Added to this were cool and wet summer conditions which required constant vigilance. The delayed harvest eventually yielded tiny volumes of pristine grapes which express a vibrant and energetic purity.
This is a deeply colored, full-bodied, and powerful red wine. Dark fruit, earth and strong tannins are the initial impression, while after a few years of aging a complex, sumptuous and rich texture appears.
