A 1993 vintage Macallan from independent bottler Douglas Laing as part of the Directors’ Cut series. Distilled in June, it was aged in a single barrel for 21 years before 177 bottles of this sweet and malty whisky were yielded in June 2014.

After 21 years, Douglas Laing deemed this wonderful Speysider worthy of joining the distinguished Directors’ Cut range. It was bottled at cask strength in June 2014 with a small outturn of 177 bottles.

Nose: Opens with a sweet, malty quality-carrying a light honey style & a spicy, zesty character.
Palate: Still sweet – home baked style – milk chocolate & toffee developing to soft spices.
Finish: Medium long – still attractively sweet – running to spiced ripe macerated oranges.

The Macallan distillery is a single malt Scotch whisky distillery in Craigellachie, Moray. The Macallan Distillers Ltd, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Edrington Group which purchased the brand from Highland Distillers in 1999.
