This second release in the Single Estate Series, created using 100% sugar cane grown on the Mount Gay Estate, translates the specific terroir of the World’s oldest rum Estate.
Master Blender Trudiann Branker offers a blend of rums produced from the 2018 Estate sugar cane harvests – the first vintage in this series. This small batch rum is 100% copper pot distilled, then matured in Quercus Alba ex-bourbon casks.
This rum is incredibly complex, bringing to life the 2018 Mount Gay Estate harvest in liquid form. With a light golden color, the nose is complex with bold citrus and some sweet fruit aromas. Hints of grapefruit, sweet plums and banana balanced with spice, a hint of almonds, sea salt and a slight milk chocolate note. The palate brings brown sugar, oak, grapefruit and floral notes, with a slightly salty smokiness. Each sip brings a new layer of complexity.
To fully reveal the aromatic complexity of this unique rum, it is best served neat.
