Rijswijks Pompwater Limoncello 50cl

Rijswijks Pompwater Limoncello is a handcrafted Dutch liqueur that captures the brightness of southern Italy in a bottle. Made with fresh lemon peels and produced in small batches, it embodies pure craftsmanship and natural freshness. The vivid citrus notes are perfectly balanced by gentle sweetness and a subtle peel bitterness -the hallmark of an authentic limoncello.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Bright and aromatic with fresh lemon, lime and a hint of lemongrass.

Palate

Clean and lively with juicy lemon, soft sweetness and a pleasant bitterness from the peel. Smooth and refreshing with a perfect sweet–tart balance.

Finish

Long and crisp with lingering citrus and a clean, refreshing close.

Serving and pairing suggestions

Serve ice cold (around 4 – 6°C), ideally straight from the freezer, in a small digestif glass. Perfect as an after-dinner drink or as a base for refreshing summer cocktails. Pair with lemon desserts, panna cotta, vanilla ice cream or fresh berries for a touch of sunshine.

Rijswijks Pompwater

Rijswijks Pompwater is the name of our own series of liqueurs, specially made for Wine and Whisky Specialist Van der Boog. The name playfully refers to the pure water that forms the basis of their creations – a nod to tradition with a modern, idiosyncratic twist.

The old Water Pump of Rijswijk

In earlier days, houses did not have water connections. Since 1550, water was drawn from a well using buckets. In 1831, things became easier when the water pump we are so familiar with today appeared next to the well. The village pump is a listed building and, together with the well, forms part of Rijswijk’s archaeological heritage. It is a real eye-catcher in the old historic centre.
