Age: 43 Year
Origin: Scotland
Distillery: Teaninich Distillery
A surprisingly fresh and fruity Teaninich, aged for 43 years before bottling by Hunter Laing for the Old & Rare range. This 1975-vintage whisky has spent four decades developing fruity notes as well as a gentle, well-balanced background of chocolate and caramel. A complex dram that reveals layers with time in the glass.
Teaninich 1975 43 Year Old Old & Rare Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Aroma is very pleasant.
Palate: There is a much greater presence of peat in the taste than the nose suggests. The smokiness quickly hits the palate and then tapers off.
Finish: This is a very light and refreshing malt.
Distillery Information
Teaninich is a whisky distillery in Alness. It was founded and built in 1817 by Hugh Munro on his estate of Teaninich Castle. Despite an initial difficulty of procuring barley whisky owing to a high demand from illegal distilleries, by 1830 Teaninich produced 30 times more spirit than it did at its founding.
