Description
TEQUILA OCHO EXTRA AÑEJO is a rareexpression that is gently aged for 3 years in ex- American whiskey barrels, bringing an unparalleledsipping tequila. These barrels have had severalprevious fillings of tequila, rendering them more‘seasoned,’ or mature. The result is a tequila notoverly influenced by the oak, allowing for the agaveprofile to shine, simply kissed with a cooked agavenote. True to Ocho, this aged expression is madewith only agave, water and yeast and showcases the pure essence of the Blue Weber Agave.
Our latest vintage is a 2021 harvested from ranchoLa Ladera, “The Hillside”, and presented in acustom wood box. Previous estate vintages of ExtraAñejo were Las Presas (2018), La Latilla (2015), LaMagueyera (2014), El Refugio (2012) and Cerrito SanAugustin (2009).
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Cherries, dark chocolate, salted caramel icecream, prunes, raisins and intense notes of fresh oak.
Palate: Cooked agave, roasted coffee, caramel, nuts, honey, orange peel and fresh oak.
